Would you believe that every single Nashvillian on the organizing team is an omnivore? To make sure that we got our vegetarian and vegan friends some local-tested options for eating out while in town, Lead Organizer Dustin Meza, talked to his mom who is a vegetarian. She gave us a list of her favorite spots with her thoughts on each spot.

SUNFLOWER VEGETARIAN CAFE

2834 Azalea Pl, Nashville, TN 37204
http://www.sunflowercafenashville.com/

Mamá Meza Says: The Sunflower Cafe serves vegetarian, vegan and gluten free food to Nashville. They are known for their gourmet veggie burgers and vegan barbecue!! They use fresh, local and organic ingredients wherever possible. And they have awesome daily specials. A very popular choice is the Thai Ginger Bowl with Roasted Tofu & Carrots, Tahini Ginger Sauce & Sesame Kale-delish!!!

THE WILD COW VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT

1896 Eastland Ave, Nashville, TN 37206
http://thewildcow.com/

Mamá Meza Says: The Wild Cow serves vegetarian & vegan fare in a fun, casual environment in the heart of East Nashville.

Most of their produce is grown locally and much of it is organic. They are proud to not have a microwave or freezer. One of my favorites is the Far Eastern bowl with sauteed garlicky kale, grilled tofu, carrot-daikon slaw, peanut sauce and sesame seeds over organic brown rice.

Woodlands Indian Vegetarian

3415 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37203
http://woodlandstennessee.com/

Mamá Meza Says: An extensive all vegetarian menu – and great lunch buffet. They offer fresh, innovative Indian cuisine at moderate prices, along with an extensive selection of south and north Indian dishes. Among the standout dishes were their samosas, and a mango curry!!!!!

Graze

1888 Eastland Avenue, Nashville, TN 37206
http://www.grazenashville.com/

Mama Mezá Says: Vegan fare is the focus at this simple Lockeland Springs hangout offering all-day, plant-based options, plus dessert, in relaxed digs featuring industrial ceilings, colorful walls and basic table seating. Brunch is a must for veggie lovers, great items only available on the brunch menu.

Grins Vegetarian Cafe

2421 Vanderbilt Pl Nashville, TN 37212
http://www.bongojava.com/grins/

Mamá Meza Says: Add Grins Vegetarian Café to the list of fast vegetarian, it’s located on campus but easily accessible for non-students too. Try the Nashville hot tofu panini or mac and cheese panini. Great for a quick bite!
