Community Spotlight: WPCampus

WPCampus is a community of web professionals, educators, and others dedicated to the growth of WordPress in higher education. Our mission is to advance colleges and universities by providing a support structure and wealth of knowledge for anyone who uses, or is interested in using, WordPress.

We are a unique WordPress community because we are topic focused as opposed to geographical. We have members from all over the world who participate in our community and attend our events.

Our community organizes one virtual and one in-person conference each year. You can view a list of our conference sessions, and their corresponding videos, at https://wpcampus.org. We also provide online resources, including a thriving Slack community, blog posts, a podcast, and more.

WordPress in higher ed is a challenging space because it often requires delivering enterprise solutions with a much tighter budget. Our community is special because our members have a bond and dedication beyond their love for WordPress: to further the vitality and mission of higher education. This passion drives our members to help each other, and their institutions, grow.

Torque magazine did a great write up on our community that you can read at https://torquemag.io/faces-of-wp/wp-campus-helps-connect-wordpress-higher-education/

Our community is mostly online. We do not have monthly meetups but, instead, organize two conferences a year and produce a podcast.

WPCampus is an amazing grassroots community, filled with hard working, extraordinary people who love WordPress
and love to see it, and each other, grow in our efforts to advance higher education. We would love the opportunity to share our community at WordCamp U.S. so that others might learn about what we do and how they can get involved.

Checkout our other WP Community Spotlights at the Community Bazaar, and be sure to visit the booths at the live event during WordCamp.
